You might think no name will ever beat God Shammgod as the great college basketball name of all time. Well how about God’s Gift?
That’s right, a player named God’s Gift Achiuwa could be on national television around this time next year. God’s Gift just finished his second and last year at Erie (NY) Community College and is ready to make the jump to a bigger school. He’ll reportedly be visiting Cincinnati April 8 but he supposedly has tentative visits for Washington and St. John’s scheduled. Even Kentucky is supposed to be looking at him.
Wherever he lands, God’s Gift, who averaged 22.3 points and 11.7 rebounds with Erie, will be a headline writer’s dream.

Name of the century right there and I think it was a smart move by his parents. If you name a kid God’s Gift he’s either going to become great at something or he’s going to fall flat on his face so at least you’re taking out the middle ground. Mediocrity be damned. It’s kind of like a boy named Sue. You gotta get tough or die. So play on God’s Gift. I can’t wait to wager on you next season.
