The Sports Blogging world is all atwitter over Joe Buck’s call of the Yankees/Red Sox game last weekend. Apparently baseball fans weren’t pleased with Buck’s level of enthusiasm at times during the game. As someone who thinks baseball is about as interesting as a History Channel special about the history of crop circles I didn’t really have a problem with the call but I will admit that Buck does sound like Pat Summerall shot with a horse tranquilizer.
FOX has explained that Buck had a virus (and his voice does sound strained) but I’ve also seen Michael Jordan drop 50 with the flu so buck up Joe (pun intended).
To make a long story slightly less long Twitter exploded over Buck’s lackadaisical commentary with some pretty funny tweets. This was definitely my favorite:
I'm not a Joe Buck fan but I bet he was just bored with the game. Those damn AL East games take forever.
