There was quite a buzz a couple days ago when the Czech president stole a pen during a visit to Chile. I guess that’s kind of funny behavior from an elected official but its child’s play in Indonesia, where a parliament member was recently canned for looking at porn during parliament.
What makes the story funnier is that this guy, Mr Arifinto, is a member of the Islamic Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) which is very anti porn. In fact the PKS were the major force behind anti-pornography legislation and a witch hunt that included hassling the editor the Indonesian version of Playboy and locking up a Indonesian pop star for having a sex tape on the internet (which is odd because in America we give those kinds of people reality shows).
It just goes to show you that politicians are hypocritical about sex everywhere not just in America. I guess Indonesia is just lucky this guy was downloading a stroke movie during parliament and not trying to get a handy from a guy in a Minnesota airport bathroom.
P.S. – Asians sure do have a weird double standard about sex. The same people that put out some of the weirdest porn on the internet and create interactive $20,000 sex dolls also believe sex is shameful. They’re even more mixed up than us.
