PETA Will Snip Your Peter
PETA removes infertility link from vasectomy contest
By QMI Agency
Animal rights group, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), has changed the wording of their vasectomy contest after angering the infertile community.
PETA is offering a free vasectomy to a man who recently had his pet neutered.
Calling the contest a "two-fer," the group is offering up one vasectomy - a reimbursement of up to $500 once the procedure is confirmed - so "one lucky man be reproduction free, free of charge, just like his pooch or feline friend." Entrants have to prove their pet was neutered after March 29.
But PETA was criticized by people who are infertile because the campaign was "in honour of National Infertility Awareness Week."
Blogger Keiko Zoll started a petition and the infertility group, RESOLVE, condemned the campaign, saying it was a "trivialization of infertility."
PETA initially changed the wording on the campaign's website from "in honour of" to "during" National Infertility Awareness Week, but on the weekend, removed all references to the week, which runs April 24 to 30.
The PETA contest argues human overpopulation is crowding out animal life on the planet, while dog and cat overpopulation is creating a euthanasia crisis.
"The best way to combat the companion-animal overpopulation crisis is to have your cat or dog neutered," the organization's website says. "And with a global population of almost seven billion humans, more of our species could use a voluntary snip too."

It’s kind of funny to see PETA can be insensitive too. They deal in so much fake outrage that it’s nice when they can be accused as well.
I really didn’t see what the big deal was. I think snipping humans along with their pets is a good idea. In fact anyone who worships their pet, travels with it or carries it around all the time probably needs to be sterilized.
But while we’re on the subject I could probably use a snip too. I don’t want any little Grizz’s running around and if I ever do get any action I’d rather not be playing Russian roulette. My problem is I don’t have a pet to spay or neuter. Can I temporarily adopt one, neuter it and then return it? Is that mean? Eh nevermind, I’ll just kidnap a friend’s pet for a few hours.
