But My Babysitter Is In Rehab
Hinds sheriff: Couple bring child along while delivering crack
ClarionLedger.com
Hinds County Sheriff’s Deputies caught a couple delivering crack cocaine to a home on McDowell Road with a 3-year-old child in the back seat of their car, officials said Tuesday.
Bernard Mack, 44, of Edwards, and Tracy Hurst, 35, of Jackson, were arrested in front of the home at 1147 McDowell Road, charged with possession of crack with intent to distribute.
Their child, a little boy, will be taken into the custody of the Department of Human Services, who will try to find a relative for him to stay with.
Sheriff Malcolm McMillin said charges can actually be tougher for drug charges when a child is present.

I think I’m actually going to have to side with the parents on this one. What were they supposed to do with the kid? Leave it home unsupervised? With all the crack lying around in that house the kid could have overdosed. At least when he’s with his folks he can be watched. Plus, by taking him on business trips he’s getting a crash course in entrepreneurship. This kid could be slanging big time by the time he hits j-high. That’s when the big money starts rolling in.
