Trumped!

With the announcement of Osama bin Laden’s killing the other massacre of the week took an immediate backseat, that being the smashing of Donald Trump’s pride at the 2011 White House Correspondents Dinner.

This year’s dinner of course came on the heels of the release of Barack Obama’s long form birth certificate, forever shattering the charade of legitimacy that Trump was trying to pump into the Birther movement. That’s right – our black president is just as American as baseball, apple pie and of course Hulk Hogan.



While SNL’s Seth Meyers got things started at the Correspondents Dinner with his quip, “Donald Trump often talks about running as a Republican, which is surprising. I just assumed he was running as a joke.”

But it was Obama, fresh off returning from Hawaii with his birth certificate, who had the most fun at Trump’s expense, lauding the prospective presidential candidate with sarcastic praise for solving America’s conspiracy theories and presiding over the tough decisions made on ‘Celebrity Apprentice.’



Obviously we shouldn’t let partisan politics shine right now with the knowledge that all Americans have now benefited by the effort of our military to exterminate our worst enemy. But that doesn’t mean we can’t all have a laugh at this hairball’s expense at the same time. And while neither party can claim victory in the war against terror anyone would have to agree that at least in terms of approval ratings and electability, Obama is crushing it right now.
