Putting the Smackdown on Vegas
Sorry to bother all you nice folks with another wrestling story but I found this story on deadspin.com that Bodog took bets on Wrestlemania this year.
That’s right, they allow you to bet on a predetermined event. If I would have known about this I’m pretty sure I could have cleaned up Sunday night. Hell, The Miz was +700 in his title match against John Cena.
I really think Bodog has opened themselves up with this decision. The head oddsmaker at Bodog, Adam Young, said that only a few people know the outcome before the matches but you routinely find previews on wrestling websites that are influenced by what backstage sources leak to the websites. Not to mention the writers for the WWE aren’t exactly putting out Emmy award winning storylines. If Charlie Sheen thinks the ‘Two and Half Men’ scripts are tin cans he’d probably call the WWE stories used coffee filters or dirty diapers.
I’m pretty much just thinking out loud here and pontificating like a bore but I think I’m going to put some serious coin on next year’s Wrestlemania. It may be a get rich quick scheme to you but it’s all I’ve got right now.
P.S. – Don’t tell this guy the match results are predetermined. He’ll cry his ass off.
