Well Week 1 sure was entertaining. I only got to see the late afternoon and night games because I was driving like a madman back to Odessa Saturday. Obviously the highlight of the weekend has to be Oklahoma losing to BYU. I haven't seen Mormons this happy since Hendrickson's Home Plus opened up that third store.
Plus everyone's favorite quasi Injun Sam Bradford went down with a shoulder injury. I think he had it coming after cutting his hair. Him and Clay rocking the short style at the same time is a recipe for disaster.
I didn't catch much of the Bama/ V-Tech game because the Huskers were on but I did notice that the Crimson Tide didn't have much trouble rolling up yards on Bud Foster's D. That should work well for my Huskers.
Speaking of the Huskers, they rolled against Howard Scnellenberger's moustache. Roy Helu averaged 11 yards per carry and helped lead my fantasy team to victory. Good thing I didn't pull the trigger on the Arrelious Benn for James Rogers trade. I think Arrelious' new nickname is Woulda Benn.
Notre Dame shook off the cobwebs and looked great offensively against Nevada. Plus, Michigan looked resurgent against Western Michigan. Now the Wolverines and the Irish get to play each other. The losing coach will have his nuts whipped with a car antenna by a mob of fans.
Finally, Miami and Florida State showed signs of life that I wasn't sure existed in them. Miami looks good enough to beat V-Tech, Georgia Tech and OU minus Bradford/Gresham, and FSU could easily win their division. Meanwhile, Al Groh should be replaced by Carl Toothbursh after Virginia lost to William & Mary. Last time I checked UNC never lost to a I-AA team under Toothbrush and the kids' teeth were never whiter.
Check back tomorrow for the Kyle Clark Top 25 list.
