Keg Stand and Deliver
Keg Thrown From Car in Police Chase
AOL News
(Sept. 12) -- It's not unusual for fleeing suspects to try to dispose of evidence as they're being pursued by police. Drugs, guns and even wads of cash have been tossed from cars during chases.
But a full-size beer keg? That might be a first.
A police dash-cam caught the moment for posterity during a three-mile chase in Wisconsin early Monday.
A Marathon County sheriff's deputy tried to pull over Kolton Kafka because of a broken taillight. But the driver sped off -- going as fast as 120 mph, according to Lt. Dale Wisnewski. Video shows a keg flying out of the vehicle and rolling to a stop along the roadside shortly before the wild ride ended.
Kevin Schleicher, 21, was charged with recklessly endangering safety for throwing the keg out the window, Wisnewski said. Kafka, 19, was charged with drunken driving and fleeing from an officer. Both suspects, who live in Stratford, were sent to the county jail. Two other passengers in Kafka's car were cited for underage drinking.
Oh, the joys of youth. When fleeing from the cops and tossing a keg out of a window seemed like a good idea. What were these dumb kids thinking? They're lucky that keg didn't go through the cops windown. Wisconsin must be a pretty drunk friendly place. If some drunk tried this on 16th Street or FM 1936 they'd probably be getting a pistol whipping and a pretty stiff jail sentence.
