Clark's Top 25

It's time for a new Clark Top 25 with as much insight as I can give in 10 minutes or less. Once again my schedule is demanding. Inglorious Basterds will start whether I'm in my seat or not. Last week's rank is in parenthesis

1. Florida (1) - The Gators destroyed Troy. That being the University of Troy not Troy Aikman or Lil Troy. I have a feeling Florida is going to end the Tennessee football program Saturday.
2. Texas (2) - a more convincing win than Week 1 with a blowout at Wyoming, but the Longhorns are likely fired up to prove themselves against an opponent with a pulse. Up next: Texas Tech. Sorry Techies.
3. USC (4) - a good win against Ohio State. I wasn't overly impressed with the Trojans but it was a road win and I wasn't too drunk to get a real good grasp on the game.
4. Alabama (3) - Last week Bama blew out Florida International. Odds are this won't be the last time we see FIU and blow in the same sentence if Isaiah Thomas has anything to say about it.
5. Penn State (6) - The Nittany Lions allowed Syracuse to stick around last week for a while, but still played solid.
6. BYU (7) - Nice follow up for BYU with a 54-3 pasting of Tulane. If BYU is still unbeaten after playing Florida State this weekend, it could stay that way.
7. LSU (8) - The Tigers got their first conference win of the season with a 23-9 win against Vandy. Nice start.
8. California (10) - Jahvid Best has to be the front runner for the Heisman right now. He had 144 yards and a TD last week.
9. Ole Miss (11) - The Rebels sat out last week. Well played.
10. Boise State (12) - The Broncos followed up a week 1 win against Oregon with a 48-0 blowout of Miami (OH). Also, noone got punched.
11. Virginia Tech (14) - I liked the way V-Tech popped back up against Marshall. This week's game against Nebraska should prove what the Hokies are capable of.
12. Georgia Tech (13) - A hard fought win for GT against Clemson. Dwyer was slowed down but RB Anthony Allen had 5 carries for 127 yards.
13. Oklahoma (15) - The Sooners didn't stay down for long as Landry Jones led the team with 286 yards and 3 TDs.
14. Ohio State (9) - The Buckeyes fought hard on their home field. Obviously they didn't get off the big game snide, but OSU should still be a lock for a top 2 spot in the Big Ten.
15. Oklahoma State (5) - Kelsey's national title pick may be out of play, but that doesn't mean the Pokes don't have something to play for. It's a long season.
16. North Carolina (16) - Not a very convincing win with a 12-10 win against UCONN last week, but I'm willing to give the Tarheels the benefit of the doubt.
17. Cincinatti (17) - The Bearcats dismantled SE Missouri State 70-3. SEMSU was probably a little overmatched but 70-3 is 70-3.
18. Miami (19) - The Canes took a week off after beating Florida State on Monday. Next up Georgia Tech's run attack. Let's see what the Canes are made of.
19. Nebraska (20) - The Blackshirts took a small step forward against Arkansas State in a 38-9 win. They'll need a huge effort against V-Tech to win this week.
20. Utah (18) - Not an impressive win against 0-2 San Jose State.
21. Florida State (22) - The Noles will have to bounce back against BYU or things could go downhill for Bowden & Co.
22. Michigan (NR) - I'm impressed with what Rich Rod has brewing with Forcier & Co. I'm shocked he's been able to rally his team after the 20 Hour fiasco.
23. Kansas (NR) - The only other team in the Big 12 North besides Nebraska that seems to be taking care of business.
24. Georgia (NR) - Probably shouldn't have had the Dawgs out after the Okie State loss. They battled with S. Carolina 41-37 last week.
25. Houston (NR) - I'm pretty sure this won't last, but I'm a good sport. Go Cougs!
