Panic at the Kareoke Bar
Brawl breaks out during karaoke at Ore. restaurant
AP
PORTLAND, Ore. -Authorities arrested seven people involved in a fight that broke out early Sunday during karaoke at a restaurant.
Sheriff's Sgt. David Thompson said the brawl ignited when a man became upset that his wife got slapped on the buttocks while singing a song.
Thompson said beer bottles and chairs were thrown during the melee while restaurant security used pepper spray on the fighters and upward of 100 people tried to exit.
Those arrested were charged with riot and disorderly conduct. Five were taken to the county jail and the others first went to the hospital.
Karaoke can be a sticky subject. Lord knows I've gotten close to a few brawls. My duet with Boscoe to 'The Outfield' at "Basin Nights" drew some looks as did my rendition of 'Baby Got Back' with Trey at "Scuttlebuts."
But nothing was worse than the time that Reggie, The King & the Fat Guy had to fight off a mob of tough guys outside Chelsea Street Pub. K$ & Muench tried to say it was their singing that inspired jealousy but I think the dudes really got mad because of my dance routine during the 3rd bar. Insecure bastards!
