This is what happens when its not football season in Nebraska: Celebrity edition

Joba Chamberlain's mother arrested on suspicion of selling meth
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP)

The mother of New York Yankees pitcher Joba Chamberlain is jailed in Nebraska and facing a felony charge after being arrested on suspicion of selling methamphetamine to an undercover police officer in February.

Lincoln Police Capt. David Beggs said Monday that 44-year-old Jacqueline Standley was arrested at her apartment Saturday night.

Beggs said she allegedly sold 1 gram of a substance believed to be meth to an uncover officer for $110 on Feb. 11. The substance tested positive for meth in testing at the state laboratory.

She was charged Monday with delivery of an exceptionally hazardous drug. Her bail was set at $5,000, and she was assigned a public defender, whose name was not on her jail record.

Chamberlain found out about the arrest after arriving at Yankee Stadium on Monday night. He said he hadn't spoken with her in a while.

"You've only got one mom, man, and you've got to be thankful for her," he said. "I still love her."

This has to make for an interesting Mother's Day right? Maybe Joba can bail her out and show her the Big City. Take her to Grey's Papaya and Times Square and then maybe she can score some ice. Judging by the picture of this lady I know why Joba's dad ate himself into near paralysis and cries constantly. Who wouldn't?

P.S. - Doesn't she look like Marla Hooch from 'A League of Their Own' went on a bender?

In dumber but less creepy news...

Sam Keller Takes On 'The Man.' Files suit against the NCAA, video game empire.
Nebraska State Paper

More than 18 months after taking his final snap as a Nebraska quarterback, Sam Keller is choosing to challenge more formidable opponents: The NCAA and EA Sports.

Keller has filed a lawsuit against the two entities for, “blatant and unlawful use of [NCAA] student likenesses” in a number of EA Sports’ college football games during his time at Arizona State and Nebraska without paying him for it. The “NCAA 08” game, for example, lists Keller at his approximate height and weight.

“With rare exception, virtually every real-life Division I football or basketball player in the NCAA has a corresponding player in Electronic Arts' games with the same jersey number, and virtually identical height, weight, build and home state,” the lawsuit said. “In addition Electronic Arts often matches the player's, skin tone, hair color, and often even a player's hair style."

Player ratings tend to be tied the presumed skills of an athlete before the beginning of the season.

The lawsuit also contends that the NCAA looks the other way when gamers download rosters names from the Internet. On the most recent Playstation 3 version of the college football game, EA provides an option to download rosters created by other users.

This guy and his boy Billy C have been gone for 2 years and they still haunt my dreams. You know the only people who get pissed about their likeness being used in college - guys who don't have a shot of playing in the pros and have nothing going on in life in general, much like the cokehead piece of trash above (Not Joba's mom, Keller.) You may also remember Keller from having a hot girlfriend who got mad at Barstool Sports for posting bikini photos of her that she had on MySpace. She's about as smart as Sam. But she is ridiculously hot. See here.
