In my recent trip to Lubbock I got to have a well spirited discussion with Clay, Wes and Joey about the recent death of 80s movie icon John Hughes. Joey was chagrined about an article he read online claiming that John Hughes was a racist because blacks were poorly represented in his films.
On that issue itself Clay, Wesley and I took the affirmative. How many black people can you find in Hughes' movies. Can you count them on both hands? And remember they have to have names, not 'Black Guy in Club.' We couldn't name 10. If you can, post a comment with their name and the film they were in.
Search your heart and vote. If you believe John Hughes was a racist, vote 'Pure Douchebaggery' and if he was a bastion of equal rights, vote 'Made Me Think.'
Also, here's my favorite black person in a John Hughes movie.
