Look At My Poll

Polling the Big 12: Who has the best and worst mascots?

The Oklahoman's Jake Trotter polled 29 of the 38 players at Big 12 Media Days, including at least one from each school. These are their answers.

Which stadium is the best place to play?

- Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial (Texas), 32%
- Memorial (Nebraska), 20%
- Kyle Field (Texas A&M), 20%
- Boone Pickens (Oklahoma State), 12%
- Gaylord Family — Oklahoma Memorial (Oklahoma), 8%

Other receiving votes: Folsom Field (Colorado), Faurot Field (Missouri)

Quotable: "It's a real nice stadium. They have the huge screen. Their fans are loud and they scream all sorts of stuff to get you pumped up." — a Big 12 South offensive player, on Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium

Quotable II: "The stands are so close to the field. You can hear everything the fans say." — a Big 12 South defensive player, on Boone Pickens Stadium

Which stadium is the worst place to play?
- Jack Trice (Iowa State), 21%
- Floyd Casey (Baylor), 17%
- Faurot Field (Missouri), 17%
- Kyle Field (Texas A&M), 13%
- Jones AT&T (Texas Tech), 13%

Other receiving votes: Memorial (Kansas), Bill Snyder Family Football (Kansas State), Boone Pickens (Oklahoma State)

Quotable: "That was the first game I started in. At the time, I thought it was cool. Until I played in everyone else's stadium." — a Big 12 South offensive player, on Jack Trice Stadium

Quotable: II: "We went up there two years ago and it looks like a McDonald's, all red and yellow. It looks kind of funny." — a Big 12 North offensive player, on Jack Trice Stadium

I've still have yet to go to DKR Memorial or Boone Pickens but I have the rest of the top 5 pretty well scouted. I wasn't impressed at OU at all really. It's pretty big but that's about all. Kyle Field is damn cool. I hate A&M but how anyone can rate that a bad stadium is beyond me. It is a steep bastard though.
