Look At My Poll
Polling the Big 12: Who has the best and worst mascots?
The Oklahoman's Jake Trotter polled 29 of the 38 players at Big 12 Media Days, including at least one from each school. These are their answers.
Who has the best uniforms?
- Texas Tech, 26%
- Texas, 21%
- Missouri, 16%
- Oklahoma State, 16%
- Colorado, 11%
- Kansas State, 11%
Quotable: "They got the Under Armour, I'm a big fan of that." — a Big 12 North offensive player, on Texas Tech's uniforms
Quotable II: "I like the all white with the burnt orange trim. It's a good look." — a Big 12 North defensive player, on Texas' uniforms
Who has the worst uniforms?
- Iowa State, 25%
- Baylor, 20%
- Kansas State, 15%
- Oklahoma State, 15%
- Texas A&M, 10%
Other receiving votes: Oklahoma, Nebraska, Texas Tech
Quotable: "They are a knock-off of USC. When I see it on film, I think 'What are we doing playing USC?' " — a Big 12 North offensive player, on Iowa State's uniforms
Quotable II: "Green and gold don't go together." — a Big 12 North offensive player, on Baylor's uniforms
I think this may be the strongest disconnect I have with the players of today. Sure, Tech's uniforms are snazzy. I give them that but comparing them to a classic look like UT, A&M or especially Nebraska's is ridiculous. Piping, interchangable pants and logos will come and go. But UT and NU have timeless unis.
