Drunken mom jailed for letting son, 7, drive
AP
FAIRBANKS, Alaska - An Alaska woman who let her 7-year-old son drive while she was passed out drunk in the passenger seat has been sentenced to 20 days in jail.
District Court Judge Raymond Funk also sentenced 37-year-old Karen Koch to three years of probation and six months of Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reported that Koch pleaded guilty to one count of reckless endangerment in exchange for prosecutors dropping a charge of allowing an unauthorized person to drive.
Damn legal system. When are they going to stop punishing people for trying to find a sober way home. She was too drunk to drive and I'm guessing, since they didn't flip into a ditch, that the 7-year-old was a better choice for a driver.
Maybe she had a good system worked out and did it all the time. For all we know that youngster has given more lifts than Bristol Palin's prom dress. BOOM!
