1981 – Murder of Adam Walsh: The head of John Walsh's son is found leading to the creation of the television series America's Most Wanted.
Births
1959 – Rosanna Arquette, American actress
1960 – Kenny Perry, American golfer
1965 – John Starks, American basketball player
1968 – Michael Bivins, American singer (New Edition & Bell Biv DeVoe)
A big day for serial killers historically with the Manson family's second set of killings, Son of Sam's arrest and Adam Walsh's death. They actually confirmed earlier this year that Ottis Toole, the partner killer of Henry Lee Lucas, killed Walsh. There had been some speculation that Jeffrey Dahmer was responsible. Of course the Walsh killing eventually resulting in John Walsh starting America's Most Wanted which was a cultural staple when Bell Biv DeVoe rules the charts with Poison. What a terrible segway that was.
