Lebromance: I'm All Out of Love
Drunk Driver Blames Drunk Driving on LeBron James and “The Decision”
Scott Atkinson/The Flint Journal
GRAND BLANC TOWNSHIP, Michigan — For one man, basketball player LeBron James's choice to play for Miami was just too much.
According to police reports, police stopped the driver, a 30-year-old Flint man, after watching his vehicle drift over the center line and the shoulder of the road at 2:40 a.m. July 11 on Maple Road near Maplebrook Apartments.
Police reported that the man appeared to be intoxicated. When asked if he’d been drinking the man said that he had been drinking, and it was because LeBron James had decided to play for the Miami Heat instead of the Boston Celtics (James had actually turned down an opportunity to play for the Cleveland Cavaliers).
A breath test revealed that the man’s alcohol level was 0.16 percent. The man was cited for driving while intoxicated. Police reports did not indicate if the man was taken to jail or released.
Well I was ready to give this guy a free pass on this DUI but it's pretty obvious that he wasn't being genuine. Sure, he might have gotten so drunk that he confused the Cavaliers with the Celtics but I'm pretty sure if the Cavs were his favorite team he could remember that. I pay forget my name and the fact that I have dignity when I'm drunk but I'm always sure I'm a Nebraska fan. So enjoy jail buddy and next time the sports world disappoints you, try to have the facts straight for the cops.
Maybe if this guy gets his facts straight and gets out of prison in time he can make it to the LeBronfire. It may be the greatest minor league promotion ever. Of course if he misses out on that he can always try to make it to Ron Artest's "Fu*k Lebron" party.
