Well placed sources tell Football Rumor Mill that Texas Tech Head Coach Mike Leach and Louisville have a mutual interest in each other.
It is well-known in college football circles that Leach tried to bolt Lubbock after last year’s breakout season, but he’s still stuck at Tech.
Louisville will be looking for a big-name, splash hire when the Cardinals finally dump Steve Kragthorpe.
And the Mike Leach leaving Tech speculation begins...now! And the BYB is the first to bring it to you Tech fans. Now this story looks pretty shaky. Personally, I'd trust Mortensen's unnamed sources before I backed this story up but this will undoubtedly be the first of a few possible Mike Leach escape scenarios that will evolve in the coming weeks. Raiders, start your engines.
In other unnamed source news, apparently Bob Stoops would possibly be interested in the Notre Dame job and Colorado is looking into hiring Kyle Shanahan (the son of Mike) in the hopes that Mike Shanahan would come aboard as offensive coordinator (ala Monte Kiffin at Tennessee). Probably nothing to those stories though. Going from Broncos head coach to CU OC is like going from Carrie Prejean's sex tape to Tonya Harding's.
