WACO, Texas (AP) — Authorities say a Texas woman lied about having breast cancer and spent $10,000 raised at a benefit to have her breasts enlarged.
McLennan County sheriff’s investigator James Pack says in court records that 24-year-old Trista Joy Lathern shaved her head to look like a cancer patient undergoing chemotherapy.
Pack says Lathern wanted breast implants to try to save her seven-month marriage.

This has all the makings of a classic hoodwink. This gal needed some cash for implants so she faked having breast cancer. It was smart too. Because then if someone sees her with implants later she can say she got them because she was self concious about having her breasts removed. My question is, how did she get caught? It would be safe to assume that the people at the benefit trusted her (at least enough to give her $10,000). She had to shoot her mouth off to somebody. Of course its hard not to brag about a goof that good. That'd be like Balloon Boy's dad not calling the news.
