College Football Wrap Up

Sorry about not putting up the picks Friday. I usually try to wait until late Friday to post them so I'll have the most updated lines and I got busy drinking Friday afternoon. Lucikly for me most of the game I thought I liked would have lost so I guess I saved us all some money. Hooray!

Auburn at Arkansas
I never saw this coming. Auburn came into this game undefeated and seemingly clicking on all cylinders while Arkansas was sputtering, aside from a good performance against A&M. Ryan Mallett seems like he may finally be picking up the offense for the Hogs. This team could be dangerous...next year.

Oklahoma State at Texas A&M
The Aggies gave the Pokes all they wanted in this back and forth vattle. Jerrod Johnson had a good performance on a big-time stage. A&M needed to bounce back strong after the embarassing loss to Arkansas and despite losing the game, they did just that. A&M may not be screwed just yet.

Alabama at Ole Miss
I could have seen this coming. Bama looked strong again and is probably most deserving of the #1 spot in the country. Mark Ingram has stepped up his game and become the replacement Bama needed at RB for Coffey. Meanwhile, it looks like we all jumped the gun on Jevan Snead.

Colorado at Texas
The Buffaloes hung around for a while before completely falling apart. Texas made some good plays but overall they can't be pleased with they way the game went. If Colorado had a decent QB instead of someone's son this could have been a 'L' for the Longhorns.

Georgia Tech at Florida State
I didn't get to watch much of this one. Had to be a terrible night for Bowden though. First a rain delay pushes the game start past his bedtime and then his defense falls apart. On a week when Jimbo Fisher's offense finally catches steam, the Seminole gives up half a hundred. Gotta hurt.

Florida at LSU
Florida really showed something in this game. Tebow did well in his limited role in the offense. He played his game but played smart. I don't know why every talking head on TV thought that would be a challenge. Plus Jeff Demps stepped up at the RB position. His 86 yards were pivotal in the win. But most importantly the 11 returning Gator starters stopped LSU cold in a scary environment. Big win for Florida.

Nebraska at Missouri

I really got to enjoy Saturday because of how happy I was after Thursday night's win for the Huskers. Of course they looked like ass for 3 quarters and the special teams play was awful, but they rallied from a 12-point defecit, scored 27 unanswered points and made Danario Alexander cry. Plus the Blackshirts dominated against a QB that decommitted and went to Missouri. Good decision.

This was a major step forward for Nebraska. Up next - Texas Tech. Nebraska has dropped its last 3 games to the Raiders. I think Mr. Suh may change all that.
