Since I have eschewed the Top 5 this week because of my lack of creativity, I decided to put together another BYB feature. Now that the Fall TV schedule is a few weeks in I figured I would break down my favorite shows and let you know what I think.
Dexter
This season has been good again, but now that Dexter has a kid, he's tired all the time and dragging ass. It's really hard to see Dexter so vulnerable. He lost a Cuban guy he killed a couple weeks ago, but luckily he found him. I didn't want that dragging out all season. I'm also glad to see that Special Agent Lundy is back, tracking a new serial killer. The only bad part of this season has been the budding relationship of Angel and Lieutenant LaGuerta. It's digusting. I'd rather see Lundy teabag Masuaka for an entire episode than watch that.
Curb Your Enthusiam
Last week was a bit of a letdown after an already stellar start. I guess I just didn't understand why he didn't lock all the doors when the guy was coming over to beat him up. I think Larry catching Susie giving Jeff roadhead has to be the highest point of the season, but Jeff nailing Funkhauser's sister is right up there.
Bored To Death
I'm trying to get into this one because I like HBO so much. I'm giving this show a lot of room to hang itself but I still watch Entourage so obviously I have a lot of patience. I guess I expected it to be funnier.
Modern Family
I always hate it when people say "its the best show you're not watching," but this show is the best show you're not watching. Its about a disfunctional extended family. It centers around Ed O'Neill who plays a cranky old man with a much younger Hispanic wife with a 10-year-old chubby son. The interaction between Al Bundy and this kid is great. You all need to check this show out. Wednesday at 8 p.m.
Law & Order: SVU
Why are they always trying to put in a new ADA? I want to punch this season's ADA in the face. The one they tried last season was at least hot. This year's looks like Peggy from 'Married With Children' after a 10-year bender.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
The Grand Canyon Trip Episode was legendary. The economy episode was also good aside from the shameless plugs for Dave & Buster's. The intervention episode last week was also pretty good, especially the box wine in a soda can and screaming "intervention." I would like to see more episodes like the Grand Canyon one where nothing happens but them screaming at one another for 30 minutes. That's a good formula.
