This Story Sucks
Man allegedly steals vacuum with his kids with him
AP
FRAMINGTON, N.Y. - An upstate New York man was accused of stealing a vacuum cleaner from a department store on Friday — with his children there. State police said Richard Dekenipp was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and robbery. After the 42-year-old man allegedly stole the vacuum cleaner, police said he struck a security guard with his car in the parking lot.
The guard wrote down his license plate and Dekenipp was later arrested at his home. His car was found abandoned at the Finger Lakes Gaming and Racetrack parking lot.
It was not immediately known if he had a lawyer.
This guy had his shoplifting technique all wrong. He went for the vacuum cleaner smash and grab with his kids in tow. You can't go shock and awe with the tykes with you. That's when having the kids becomes a detriment. This guy needs to learn to use his kids as an asset and bring them into the scheme. He should have had one kid go to Customer Service and pretend to be lost and then have another kid distract the Home Appliances salesman by asking "does this vacuum suck?" Amidst all the confusion the guy could have easily snuck out the back with the vacuum. What is this, amatuer hour?
