My Mailman Has the Munchies

Mailed marijuana: prison for ex-TX postal worker
The Associated Press

BROWNSVILLE, Texas — A now-former postal worker in south Texas must serve nearly five years in federal prison over a marijuana by mail scheme.

U.S. Attorney Jose Angel Moreno says 45-year-old Eva Zamora of San Benito was arrested last August. Zamora in November pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than 100 kilograms of marijuana.

She was sentenced Thursday in Brownsville to 57 months in prison.

Investigators say 16 parcels processed by Zamora were seized by post office personnel. She was videotaped processing 57 similar packages, each with about 20 pounds of marijuana.

Two co-defendants who pleaded guilty also were sentenced to prison on Thursday.

And people say the federal government isn't capable of handling big things. Just look at the U.S. Postal Service. They've been delivering quality grass to The Rio Grande Valley (aka Hell on Earth) from Mexico with speed and precision. Odds are the Post Office probably knew all along but with dwindling returns in the mail business they had to go along with it. I guess we're officially ending Saturday delivery now.

P.S. - Only in Brownsville would someone be so stupid to transport weed via snail mail.
