College Football Picks

South Florida at UCONN -7
I know I havent had the Huskies pegged right in any game this season. The boys from Stoors have burned me every step of the way. By the same token my perennial second favorite team South Florida has been up and down this season like it was on a freaking loop-de-loop. I may regret this but I'll take USF one more time because NOBODY CIRCLES THE WAGONS LIKE THE SOUTH FLORIDA BULLS!

West Virginia at Rutgers -1.5
Not quite sure how Rutgers got to be favored in this one. The Scarlet Knights had a nice run in the middle of the season but have fallen flat as of late. West Virginia is riding high after beating Pitt last week. I'll take the Mountaineers and the points.

Arizona at USC -7
I'm not sure if USC played great last week or if UCLA is just that bad, but I fell for it anyway. I think the Trojan defense rises to the occassion this week against the Cats and end the season on a high note.

Cal -7 at Washington
The Huskies certainly improved this season from the disastrous 0-12 last year but it probably was the amount of improvement we all expected after UW beat USC. I'll take Cal to get the job done by 10 in Huskie Stadium.

Cincy -2 at Pittsburgh
I might not suggest this pick to anyone. I certainly won't be placing a wager on it but something tells me Cincy is in the crosshairs in this one. I'm taking Pitt to win by a field goal.

Wisconsin -12 at Hawaii
The little Doc Sports guy says this game is a lock for the Badgers and since his betting almanac gave us many a laugh filled night at Bash's, I have to trust him. I'll take Wisconsin by a lot.

Georgia Tech -1 vs. Clemson
Georgia Tech got straight up embarrassed on defense last week at two Bulldog rushers reached the 100-yard mark. If Clemson still had James Davis to pair with C.J. Spiller this might be an omen. But I'm not a real superstitious guy. I'll take the Yellow Jackets to get off the snide.

Florida -6 vs. Alabama
I've been saying for weeks that I think Bama is the best team in the country. I think Florida will come up with a few new tricks in this game but ultimately the won't be enough to beat a straight ahead attack by McElroy, Ingram and Co. I'm taking the Crimson Tide. Roll Tide!

Aside from the game the SEC championship will also mark the next to last time we ever see Tim Tebow play a college game. I know it will bring tears to my eyes. It might even get me to enroll in this school.

Nebraska vs. Texas -14
There have been lots of shocking moments in Big 12 Championship history. Kansas State beating Oklahoma like dogs in '03, Texas A&M shocking the #2 Wildcats in '98 and of course the first title game in '96 when the unranked Longhorns knocked off #3 Nebraska. The Longhorns seem pretty sure of themselves coming into this one and those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Here's a homer pick for the ages. Spread or no spread, GO BIG RED!
