Okay, I'm not going to harp on the fact that the Bills easily have the worst offense in the NFL or that Trent Edwards is getting worse with every ball he throws. I think thats beyond argument at this point. But the clock management and play calling at the end of Buffalo's loss were bad to the point of criminality. I actually think Chan Gailey and Trent Edwards should be arrested.
The Bills almost opted to punt and try to get the ball back with just under 2 minutes to play. And I couldn't have faulted them too much for that. It's a risky move but they were deep in their own territory. But instead they snapped the ball through the endzone purposely resulting in a safety and a free kick.
Again, I trusted the team's judgement. Who wants to punt out of their own endzone? Sure, the move took away the chance to win with a field goal but now the Bills could try an onside kick.
But instead of sending the kicker out they opted to go with the punter and use the free kick. And that even makes sense. Why not try to play the field position game and get the offense the ball back with a better chance of scoring? But then, for some crazy ass reason, the Bills pooched it to right around the 50-yard-line. Fortunately, the defense came through and forced a Dolphins punt but the Bills were back inside their own 10 where they eventually got sacked and got a delay of game penalty. And on 4th and a mile with 8 seconds left Trent Edwards threw an 8-yard pass. I love this team!
But its just another year in Buffalo and you know what that means. More Billshit.
