Urine Trouble

Teen Gets Community Service in Urine Case
KTLA News

Kevin Duron, 18, pleaded no contest Wednesday to one misdemeanor count of failing to register before entering school grounds, prosecutors said.

A second count was dismissed. He also received credit for serving three days in jail.

Duron is accused of walking into a restroom at Pacific Elementary School last week and offering two boys several dollars to urinate in a cup, Manhattan Beach Sgt. Brian Brown said.

The boys refused his request.

Duron was initially arrested on suspicion of annoying or molesting children, but prosecutors did not charge him with that or anything in connection with the actual request he made to the children.

Prosecutors said Duron's request was not sexual in nature and did not warrant the stronger charge. He would have had to register as a sex offender if convicted of a sex offense.

Brown said it's believed Duron was trying to collect urine to pass drug tests.

Surveillance cameras captured Duron on his first visit to the school, police said, adding that a teacher recognized him when he returned to the school on Monday.

School officials notified parents of the incidents and say no students were hurt.

So is it illegal to be crafty in this country now? I feel like we're punishing this guy for coming up with a good idea. He needs clean urine for a drug test and what better place to find clean urine than an elementary school? Its not like he can ask some random adult for pee. What if they do drugs and lie about it so they can get some money. Then Mr. Duron is screwed. People are way too up tight about their kids. It wouldn't have killed them to help this guy out and offer some pee.
