Got a leg? Want to play football for Tech?

Tech punter LaCour suspended six games
Daily Toreador

Texas Tech punter Jonathan LaCour has been suspended for the first six games of the 2009 season, Texas Tech spokesman Chris Cook confirmed Thursday.

Cook declined to comment on the reason for the suspension, and he said the matter will be handled internally.

"The student-athlete in question was found in violation of Big 12 eligibility rules and has been declared ineligible," read a short prepared statement by the Big 12 Conference.

With the suspension, LaCour will miss games against North Dakota, Rice, Texas, Houston, New Mexico and Kansas State. Despite missing two Big 12 games against Texas and Kansas State, LaCour should be available for the last six conference games.

Well this decision is defenitely going to open the door for more Tech special teams shenanigans. Tech's extra pointer kicker was selected after successfully hitting a field goal during an in-game contest. While I was at Tech Leach held open tryouts for punter.

This season I think they should bring ESPN in and do a 'Knight School' type of thing. They could have daily contests for immunity and what not. Such contests could be 'Who can successfully mix Leach's Tequila Sunrise the fastest?' or 'Paint Brandon Carter's face first and win immunity.'

Also, why would you suspend a bad punter? If you can cut McKenner Dixon I think you can cut Jonathan Lacour.
