Cops rescue marinating cat from car trunk
By QMI Agency

Navarro the cat has found a new home with owners who hopefully won't want to eat him.

The Erie County SPCA in New York says Buffalo police seized the four-year-old black and white cat from a man's trunk Sunday night.

The officers had pulled the man over and heard the cat in the trunk. When officers opened the trunk, they found Navarro covered in crushed red peppers, chili pepper, salt and oil, the SPCA said.

When asked why the man appeared to be "marinating" his cat, he allegedly told officers the cat had been "mean" to him, the SPCA said.

The 51-year-old man was arrested and charged with one count of animal cruelty.

SPCA staff said Navarro was adopted by a woman named Vicky who wanted a friend for her other cat. Navarro, now named Oliver, went to meet his new feline friend Tuesday evening.

I'm pretty sure the only reason this cat didn't have to use up all its nine lives is because the Asian guy driving the car was a terrible motorist and got pulled over. If he could have controlled the wheel old Navarro would be meeting the same fate as General Tso's chicken. But, you know, in several countries marinated cat is a delicacy. Plus, I thought we were supposed to be more sensitive to other cultures. So lets no freak out every time some Chinaman marinates a cat in his car trunk. I'm sure Navarro would have made a delicious meal.
