BYB Express - Monday Edition

Had to run some errands as part of my gig for Grant Street Bar & Grill today so I didn't have time for a full blog. BYB Express to the rescue. Don't think of it as getting less blog. Just think of it getting more time to hear about the oil spill.

F My Life Moment of the Day
Today, I found out I have dandruff when a random chick passed by and said out loud to her friends: "That dude's hair is having an early Xmas!" and the whole lot promptly turned and looked at me. FML

Judge to Lindsay Lohan - No Alcohol, No Drugs\
by TMZ Staff

Lindsay Lohan has been ordered to refrain from drinking or doing drugs ... and if she dares to try she could end up behind bars.

Judge Marsha Revel laid down the law during a hearing this AM in Beverly Hills court. Judge Revel told Lindsay in order to stay free on bail, she cannot drink alcohol, she must wear a SCRAM device and she must submit to random drug testing.

Lindsay must begin wearing the SCRAM bracelet within 24 hours.

Lindsay must also attend all scheduled alcohol ed classes at least once a week.

Lindsay's lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, began to object to the conditions, but when the judge said she would state out loud all the reasons why the conditions were appropriate -- Holley backed off and accepted the conditions.

And the judge indicated Lindsay must stay in the L.A. area -- which will get in the way of shooting a movie in Texas. The judge basically said, tough luck.

Mind you ... the conditions the judge imposed must be met in order for Lindsay to remain free on bail. The judge is also scheduling a hearing to determine if Lindsay has violated her probation -- the date for the hearing is July 6.

If the judge decides Lindsay violated her probation by not attending her alcohol ed program as required ... she could be jailed for 180 days.

What kind of Kangaroo Court thinks they can tell Lindsay Lohan how to live her life? Sure, her behavior might be a bit erratic from time to time but I'm not sure I want to live in a country where our celebrities don't get to do whatever the hell they want. We all want to have fame and fortune but whats the point if you can't get drunked up and act like an ass? It kind of defeats the point. So I saw keep rocking out Lindsay. There ain't a jail in this country that can hold you. Plus I'd kind of like to see you in a womens prison movie anyway.

1844 – Samuel Morse sends the message "What hath God wrought" from the Old Supreme Court Chamber in the United States Capitol to his assistant, Alfred Vail, in Baltimore, Maryland to inaugurate the first telegraph line.
1856 – John Brown and his men murder five slavery supporters at Pottawatomie Creek, Kansas.
1935 – The first night game in Major League Baseball history is played in Cincinnati, Ohio, with the Cincinnati Reds beating the Philadelphia Phillies 2-1 at Crosley Field.

Plus, Bob Dylan was born in 1941, Priscilla Presley was born in 1945, pitcher Bartolo Colón was born in 1973 and Tracy McGrady was born in 1979. But most importantly John C. Reilly (aka Dewey Cox) was born in 1965.

Obama explores LeBron's options
Associated Press

If LeBron James isn't sure he can win in Cleveland, President Barack Obama thinks there's an opportunity with his hometown Chicago Bulls.

"You know, like I said, I don't want to meddle," Obama told TNT. "I will say this: [Derrick] Rose, Joakim Noah it's a pretty good core. You know, you could see LeBron fitting in pretty well there."

Obama was interviewed about a number of basketball subjects by broadcaster Marv Albert on the White House basketball court. The interview will be shown Tuesday night at 8 p.m. ET.

James can become a free agent this summer, and his decision whether to leave the Cavaliers is one of the hottest topics in sports. Though he's never said he wants out of his native Ohio, there's speculation he'd consider it after the Cavaliers were knocked out of the playoffs in the second round by the Boston Celtics.

"I think that the most important thing for LeBron right now is actually to find a structure where he's got a coach that he respects and is working hard with teammates who care about him and if that's in Cleveland, then he should stay in Cleveland," Obama said. "If he doesn't feel like he can get it there, then someplace else."

Obama compared James' situation to the Bulls not winning until Michael Jordan had confidence in Phil Jackson, Scottie Pippen and the rest of his teammates. Once that happened, Chicago won six NBA championships in the 1990s.

"It wasn't until you got that framework around you that you could be a champion," Obama said. "Same thing happened with Kobe [Bryant]. You know, I think that, first with Shaq [O'Neal] then later with [Pau] Gasol, you know, he's gotten that sense of a team around him and I think LeBron hasn't quite been able to get that yet. That's what he needs to find."

There's one story in this country getting all the attention right now and if you think its that oil spill then you're out of your mind. The hot topic de jeur is the status of Lebron James. Where is he going? Is he staying? And instead of just waiting to see what happens everyone has to get their two cents in now. One day ESPN is reporting that Lebron said hello to Michael Jordan so he must be going to Chicago and the next day they report he was spotted wearing house shoes so he must be leaning toward staying in Cleveland. Now Mike Brown has been fired. I'm afraid to even turn to ESPN for fear of the coverage.

Instead of rampant speculation maybe we should just try to shut up about it. He'll decide eventually. In the mean time we can try and enjoy another classic Lakers vs. Celtics Finals.

P.S. - Does Obama know he can turn down interview requests. Every time I see him do some basketball interview I flash back to Bush playing golf after 9/11. Even if these interviews aren't a distraction, I'd feel better if he weren't talking about basketball while the ocean turns black.
