Pau Gasol on Nuggets - "They talk too much. Too much. Way too much."
By Brian Kamenetzky/ESPN LA lakers Blog
Dave McMenamin of ESPNLosAngeles.com details here Pau Gasol's postgame comments after the Lakers beat the Nuggets Sunday afternoon. I'll be honest, they were pretty darn surprising given the source. Pau is among the more polite, non-trash talky folks the NBA has to offer. To see him this chapped after a game, particularly one they won, will please fans, I'm sure.
I didn't get the titular comments on video- quite frankly, my camera arm needed a break- but managed to capture most of the good stuff via moving pictures:
At this point, I'm willing to say when it comes to Lakers vs. Nuggets, it's on like Donkey Kong.
I've never been a huge fan of Pau Gasol but I will say that I like this new take charge attitude he's displaying. First he bashes Kobe the night he gets the Lakers all-time scoring title and now he's picking up the charge of trash talking the Lakers' biggest Western Conference rival, the Nuggets. I didn't get a chance to watch Sunday's game because I was on the road back from San Angelo but I caught bits and pieces on ESPN Radio and obviously, I like what I heard. With Kobe's recent injury the supporting cast (especially Lamar Odom) has really stepped up and, no offense to the Mavs, but I really want the Thuggets in the Western Conference Finals. A chance to punch them in their neck tattoos and rain on the Celtics parade in one season would be a dream come true. Of course I'll take wins over Dirk and Lebron/Shaq too.
