Kobe A (Modern) Family Man

Kobe Films 'Modern Family' Cameo
Ehrlthepearl.com

Kobe Bryant has appeared on such TV shows as “Sesame Street,” “Moesha,” “In the House” and “Sister, Sister” and now the reigning NBA Finals MVP will make a cameo on ABC's hit comedy "Modern Family."

During last night's Lakers-Pacers game, "Modern Family" stars Sofia Vergara and Ty Burrell filmed a segment for an upcoming episode during the always popular in-game “Kiss Cam.” Vergara was sitting next to Burrell and smooched him for the camera. Burrell's married character, Phil has a crush on Vergara’s Gloria, his Stepmother-in-law.

After the Lakers' 122-99 victory, Bryant filmed his cameo and told the OC Register, “I’m just winging it. I’m playing myself, so I can be myself. I can be a smart (expletive.)”

As far as TV goes I'm a creature of habit. 'Monday Night Raw,' 'Law & Order: SVU,' and 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' are the constants but every year I try to take another couple shows under my wing. This season 'Modern Family' is one of those such shoes. Some episodes have been better than others but I easily think its the best new comedy. Plus they've gotten quite a few celebrity cameos, which is a pretty good measuring stick for success. Of course, no cameo will be as big as Kobe Bryant's upcoming appearance. With Lamar Odom on 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians,' the Lakers are truly Showtime again (no matter how they're playing). I just hope Ron Artest gets a guest spot on 'Jersey Shore.'

P.S. - Here's a Kobe free clip from 'Modern Family.' Check it out tonite at 8 on ABC.
