A Rose of a Robbery
Thorny thief snips 100 rose blooms from Maine park
AP
PORTLAND, Maine -Police in Maine's biggest city are on the lookout for a thief with an eye for roses. Gardeners at Portland's Deering Oaks Park noticed Monday that someone had snipped 100 blooms from the rose bushes. The same thing happened last year but not on the same scale.
The Deering Oaks Rose Circle features 600 rose bushes, and horticulture supervisor John Shannon calls it a "jewel to the city of Portland."
Shannon tells The Portland Daily Sun he's saddened to see the poaching. Police are boosting patrols.
I'm betting the guy that pulled off tis job did something really bad to make his wife mad like forget her birthday or have sex with the babysitter. Plus he's out of work so he decided to cut a bunch of roses from a garder and cover the apartment with them. It sounds like he's getting good at it too. Maybe he can get all 600 next year when he bangs the next babysitter.
