Bickering About Brady

So earlier this week I posted a story about Tom Brady's plants getting stolen and it raised quite a stink. And by that I mean we got 3 comments. Sadly, that's a new BYB record.

I thought about squashing it but then I realized noone ever comments so I should embrace it and respond to the comments with a new post.

The story basically read:

BOSTON — A man who unwittingly stole two flower planters worth $8,000 from behind Tom Brady's Boston condominium says he has to panhandle to pay restitution.

Dennis Paiva tells the Boston Herald he scours the streets for trash to sell. He says he took the planters from behind a condominium because they were next to the trash and sold them for $450.

He agreed to pay $4,000 restitution to Brady's real estate trust. But he says he can't work after recent surgery so he begs passers-by for money.

And I wrote:

I guess its not enough to have Super Bowl rings and a hot model wife anymore. Tom Brady needs his fruity potted plants back so he can make them grow just by looking at them. This poor Dennis guy now has to wash windshields and sell newspapers in the street to pay for Tom's douchebaggery.

Pretty reasonable response I thought but here were the comments:

If the guy worked for a living and not robbed banks, he would not have to steel and begs for a living. He knew they was valuable and not trash or he would not have ask $450 for them. He is a liar and a excon so if you want to support him go ahead. Why don't you send him the 4 grand. He is lucky he could have been charged with grand-larceny and gone back to jail.

Your an idiot.Sounds like someone has Brady envy.If someone stole your shit you'd be writing your lil blog about it,right? In this case theres a good chance Brady himself does not even know of this situation.
To be fair if he does know about it,what?,you expect him to put up the money for the convicted thief....Also it's worth noting I've met Tom Brady when we both were at Michigan,on numerous occasions.
He's a stand up guy...the only shame here is for you,ripping a guy your simply jealous of...for shame is right.For your ignorance.

I'd like to address these allegations/inisghts/insults one at a time.

Commentor # 3
- First of all stealing is sometimes right. Like if your family is starving and you have to steal bread. Or if you know a guy who works for the cable company and he can get you HBO. Or hotel towells. There's tons of exceptions.

Commentor # 1
- If the guy had a job in Detroit or Philly he probably would have to beg for money. Meanwhile, if he were a talented bank robber he would not. So your logic is flawed.
- I often support ex-cons. Some of Nebraska's best football players have become cons and then ex-cons.
- Granted the thief probably knew the plants were expensive but if Mr. Brady loved them so much maybe he should have put them somewhere else than directly beside his dumpster.

Commentor # 2 - I don't like your tone in general.
- First, how am I getting called an idiot but someone who typed "YOUR an idiot."
- Secondly, I'm no more jealous of Tom Brady than I am Peyton Manning, Barney the Dinosaur or my mailman. Basically I'm jealous of everyone who makes more money than me. So that list is long.
- This crime classifies as a property crime with restitution so I'm sure someone in Brady's household had to be notified, at least by letter.
- I love it when people say 'I met him and he's a nice guy.' So you had 4-5 isolated interactions with the guy and you can vouch for his character? Let me guess, he said hello and made polite small talk. What was his other option? Smack the books out of your hand? Pour soda on you? Call you Urkel? This isn't 'Revenge of the Nerds.' College athletes don't go around picking on students. Unless its in the Cujo's parking lot. I talked to Eli Manning on the phone once and he was polite but who knows, maybe he's a real doucher.
- Also, I don't even like the word Michigan on my blog. I'm still upset the Wolverines haven't admitted they didn't deserve their part of the 97 National Title. Until I have an admission of that fact signed by Lloyd Carr and notarized then I'm not entertaining any Michigan ballyhoo. Also, I doubt anyone who went to Michigan was advocating strict penalties against theft when Brian Griese was piss drunk climbing in people's windows and stealing TVs.

At the end of the day Tom Brady is probably the bees knees but I'm a Buffalo fan so I'm going to rip him a new a-hole for jaywalking if he does it. I reserve the right to be that hypocritical. He might as well be Hitler to me. That goes for anyone in the BYB Axis of Evil. But especially you Wes Welker, wherever you are!
