I Feel Like Chicken Tonite

Pittsburgh university probing painted chickens
Associated Press

PITTSBURGH — Officials at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh are trying to determine how spray-painted chickens got into various campus buildings and whether the incident was a fraternity prank or something else.

Beth McMaster, a wildlife rehabilitator, has been caring for nine birds removed from campus buildings beginning on Saturday. She says one bird was spray-painted pink, another with purple paint, and others with yellow.

Carnegie Mellon officials say in a statement that students are cooperating with the university's efforts "to understand what happened on Saturday, when farm chickens were found in campus buildings." Any disciplinary action will be handled through the school's internal judicial process.

One bird was found in a student center, another in a racquetball court.

You've got to love college pranks. With the exception of a few naked runs and 4/20 at the University of Colorado I thought these type of shenanigans only happened in movies. But these kids from Carnegie Mellon have proved me wrong. True, painted chickens will probably draw the ire of PETA as well as the administration but for a well timed goof, it's more than worth it. Not quite as good as a dead horse in the Dean's office but it'll do.
