Births

1924 – Tom Landry, American football coach (d. 2000)

1977 – Ludacris, American rapper
1978 – Ed Reed, American football player
Obviously the WTC attacks are the biggest historic story on 9/11, but I was strengly surprised about the amount of historically relevant stuff has happened on this day. Sure, Pete Rose, a mobter's murder and the Ford Pinto pale in comparison to what happened in 2001, but they are significant.
I can still remember that day in 2001. We had moved into the first 27th St. house not long before and Clay, my bro and I were still sleeping in one room. My mom called and woke us up and let us know to turn the TV on and we saw the second plane hit live. All we did for the next two days was drink beer and watch news. Probably the most historically significant day I'll ever experience. Maybe.
P.S. - Bear Bryant and Tom Landry born on the same day. That's pretty cool.
