Nepotism at its finest

Colorado QB to redshirt
Denver Post

One explanation for Colorado sophomore quarterback Tyler Hansen not playing Sunday night in the 23-17 season-opening loss to Colorado State came to light Monday when Hansen revealed plans to redshirt this season. Hansen said redshirting was a mutual decision made with offensive coordinator Eric Kiesau about three weeks ago, but it was not made public.

So, CU is going to redshirt Tyler Hansen. The Tyler Hansen who is more talented than starting QB Cody Hawkins. I'm glad to see that despite his claims to eschew family relations in favor of winning, Dan Hawkins is still going to start daddy's little boy. I hope he has a good time spending quality time with his son when they're both on a Division I-AA team next season.

Plus, whose grand idea was it for CU to play CSU on Sunday and then play Toledo on Friday? That's four days rest. Don't be surprised if the Rockets win that one.
